It is a crest of granite......perfectly inaccessible, being probably the only one of all the prominent points about the Yosemite which never has been, and never will be trodden by human foot.

这是一处花岗岩波峰......绝对不可能进行攀爬，或许是Yosemite山谷地区众多令人惊叹的山峰中唯一一座此前从未有过，此后也不可能有人类涉足的地点。

－此处花岗岩壁高度为4737英尺（1444米）
－Half Dome起初在当地美国土著的语言中为称为“Tis-sa-ack”，一位Cleft岩壁，而且1969年10月，Royal Robbins和Don Peterson用时八日首攀了该岩壁上的第四条线路，并为其命名为“Tis-sa-ack”
