Gyatso: Hello.
Charles Johnson: Hello. I am Charles Johnson. What is your name?
Gyatso: My name is Gyatso Dorje. Nice meeting you, Mr. Johnson.
Charles: Please, call me Charles. Nice to meet you too, Gyatso.
What a beautiful day today, isn’t it?
Gyatso: It is beautiful indeed. However, the day like this in my hometown is even more beautiful.
Charles: Really? Then, where do you come from?
Gyatso: I come from Dingri county, Shigatse prefecture.
Charles: Is that the county at the foot of the Mt. Everest?
Gyatso: Yes, that is. But, we call the mountain Qomolangma. And you know what, can you believe that in Dingri, there are 4 eight-thousanders? And mountains over 7,000m are around 50.
Charles: Wow, very impressive. What are these 4 eight-thousanders, Qomolangma, Lotse, Cho oyo and Shisha Pangma?
Cyatso: No, Shisha Pangma is in Nielamu county, the last one is Makalu.
Charles: Yes, you are right. And are there any other interesting places in your hometown?
Gyatso: Certainly, yes, we have the highest monastery among the world, Rongbu monastery, which is as high as 5,100m above sea level. And it is just located next to the Base Camp.
Charles: How wonderful!
Cyatso: And in Dingri, because the average height is above 4,000m, the various types of glaciers are another attraction.
Charles: I must go and see.
Gyatso: Definitely, our county is also famous for authentic handicrafts and elegantly hand-made ethnic clothes. Snow leopards which are rarely found else where can be seen occasionally here.
Charles: Cool, I should have a trip to Dingri.
Gyatso: Welcome, I am sure you will have fun.
